Devblog #2: Initial Concept (12/02/2024)
Welcome back guys! We are super excited to tell about what we have been working on for the past week. The idea of the game is fully set in stone now and we are working very hard to create a first prototype for you guys to have a look in the following months but enough of the chit chat let us show you what we have been working on so far!
Initial Concept:
In the beginning of the project we knew that we wanted the player to play as the bus driver that would pick up passengers and deliver them to the correct bus stop. We also knew that we wanted each passenger to have a fun interaction with the player but we weren't so sure as to how the level layout is going to turn out. With this issue in mind, the team has spent many meetings and have decided on what we want so let's not waste anymore time and let us tell you all about it!
Final Concept:
After many meetings, we have decided that the game will be a series of short levels similar to Job Simulator. Each one of our levels will be a different theme that gives the player a wonderful experience. We have kept our principals in mind where we want to deliver you guys with a game that will definitely make you chuckle. Each level is designed so it will be very easy to play without any unnecessary frustrations and we have also developed a story for the game that we are very excited to share to you guys as well!
The story of our game begins with the player accepting this job offer from this intergalactic bus company that promises you with a very successful future and salary. The player is then tasked to drive the bus in a foreign planet to pick up the passengers and delivery them to their bus stops. The catch? Let just say the passengers that you will be picking won't be just any regular passengers and being the bus driver is going to be a very chaotic job.
What we have so far:
The team is currently working very hard to create what we envisioned in Unity and here is a lists of what we have made so far.
1. There is a lane system for the bus so that the player it is both simple and fun for the players to control.
2. Passengers now get on the bus but we are still working on making the AI better.
Going forward:
With the base mechanic created, the team will work very hard to polish it further and we will very soon start designing the first level idea for the game which we are very excited about!
