Devblog #3: Initial Art Design (19/02/2024)
Hello guys this is just a small devblog to follow up on the last one where we talked about on our initial idea. Our talented artists and 3D asset designers have been drafting up some sketches and model drafts just so that we have some ideas on what the game will look like and to share with you guys as well!
Art Design:
For the art of the game we decided to keep it cartoony to appeal to all audiences, the art design team has already started to draft up some ideas on what the potential Passengers and NPCs will look like. Since the player will be driving the bus in a different planet in each level, the theme of the Passengers and NPCs will be different and here are some sketches of some ideas we have drafted so far!
We wanted to keep the passengers and NPCs models nonhuman like as we do not intend to offend anyone and that it will make the game feel more goofy as well. Each specific type of Passengers or NPCs will have a mechanic that is unique to them. Take the slime guy for example, one cool mechanic that only works for it species is that they can often put their bus tickets inside their body so the player would have to put their hand in their slimly body! Yucky! I know right but here is just one of the many ideas that we have in store for you guys!
Going Forward:
Currently the team is working to put the ideas from the paper into the game! We hope by the next devblog we will able to show you guys on our very first prototype so you can see what the game can potentially look like.
